My favourite Leopard improvements

Posted by Alec on 18 December 2007

After a couple of weeks with Leopard here are my top reasons to switch

  • WiFi management just works! I had to keep choosing my favourite SSID every time my Macbook woke up under Tiger. Worth the price of entry alone
  • It’s faster
  • Finder is slightly better at displaying information
  • I think I like spaces…, but still trying to get used to that
  • Stacks is useful
  • erhh.. that’s it for me. I don’t use AppleMail,iCal, iChat etc etc.

You should consider iChat and AppleMail. iChat is quite amazing with remote screen management, encrypted channels with other .mac owners, a theatre window to share files “live”, the ability to manage multiple accounts, conferencing with 2 others and much more. There is simply not greater IM on the market.

Except iChat only works with across two IM networks. I use Adium which works across all of my IM networks (5 at the moment). As I use Entourage for email I don’t currently use Apple Mail.

So I’m afraid neither of these made my Leopard improvement list.

I should have added that Entourage really, *really*, sucks IMHO, but I was stuck because of corporate email policy. The Apple email app is quite pleasant.
